Federal Cyber Security Delegate
On 30 January 2019, the Federal Council defined the organisation of the Confederation in the area of cyber-risks and decided to appoint a Federal Cyber Security Delegate.
The Delegate reports directly to the Head of the Federal Department of Finance and is the contact for the political world, the media and the general public on questions related to cyber-risks. He heads the newly created National Cyber Security Centre as well as the interdepartmental committees on improving the coordination of activities in the area of cyber-risks.
In August 2019, Florian Schütz took up his post as Federal Cyber Security Delegate. He has a Master's degree in Computer Science and a Master of Advanced Studies in Security Policy and Crisis Management from the ETH Zurich, and has over ten years' private sector management experience in the area of IT security.
